Conventional Burials

Green Burials

A green burial returns the body to the earth and does not contaminate the earth. A green burial:

  • Does not prepare the body with chemicals​.

  • Does not use a vault.

  • Does not use an impermeable casket.

  • Does not use herbicides or pesticides in the landscaping.

  • Does not mark the grave with headstones other than wooden plaques or natural rocks. GPS coordinates can be used in place of a physical marker.

Green burials can cost as little as $2,000.
